Cha, Cha, Cha, Changes at VinTank.

As we approach three years in business, so much has changed.  E-commerce threatens to become a reality for the wine industry.  We have suffered the worst recession of our lifetime.  We have witnessed the birth of Flash sales.  Social networks have become intrinsic to our digital existence.  Mobile has matured to a form that is endemic to our culture.  This is the tip of the iceberg of transformation in and outside of our industry.  Welcome to the perfect storm.

As a result, we (VinTank) have evolved to embrace this ever changing digital arena.  We began as a services company looking to bring digital and wine closer together through strategic consultation and business development.  We have been blessed by incredible clients, amazing projects, and the pleasure to work with some of the brightest minds in the industry.  We have been incredibly fortunate that VinTank is a fully self- funded endeavor.  The quantity and quality of work we produce is a result of an endless passion  for our industry and our desire to change the industry for the better.  We hope you see this in all of our work and our demonstrated efforts.

With our recent acquisition of Cruvee we have decided to narrow our focus to diminish our efforts around services and focus the majority of our efforts around the construction of innovative products.  We will not completely abandon our services but will be more selective in our choice of partner clients.  Cruvee will transform, and in fact, no longer exist . . . as Cruvee.  Cruvee is now VinTank Social Connect. VinTank’s software is the foundation of everything we build and powers the Social Connect services.  Why call it Social Connect? Our free social media monitoring software allows you to connect with customers and more in the social ecosphere. Social Connect defines what it does today and what it will do tomorrow.  This includes the work we are doing on advanced features like Social CRM, Social Media Management and more. To sum it up: Social Connect says what it does and does what it says.

As per our promise upon purchase, VinTank’s Social Connect will always be FREE for social media monitoring for as long as we own it.  What is the future of VinTank you ask?  We will focus on three things, VinTank Social Connect and the improvement and expansion of the features for the 2000+ companies using our services, our Sandbox where we experiment on new and innovative products to catalyze the wine industry, and Thought Leadership to improve the level of understanding of wine and digital for all.

What does that mean?  It means that there is only one company; VinTank.  It means we only have one software, VinTank Social Connect.  It means that there is only one site that unites all our work, software, insanity, and innovation: VinTank.com.  This site is the hub for everything we work on (Cruvee/Social Connect, VinPass, etc).  This also means that we are reinvesting significantly into VinTank Social Connect to bring new and advanced features.  It means more innovation in our Sandbox and asking the best and the brightest wineries to take a chance and become leaders in the “Blue Ocean Strategy” of digital.  It means putting out more and more content, analysis, reports, etc. to provide insight into a space that is often confusing and misunderstood.  It means a relentless and unwavering commitment to the wine industry and the strategic vision to transition successfully into the digital world by providing the beacon that will  navigate through this perfect storm.
